The way it should be

Here are the promised pictures of the boys enjoying their Daddy being home.

At last...Mason had waited so patiently and he finally got to see his Daddy. What a wonderful surprise!

Carter took no time at all warming up to David. Things were quickly getting back to normal!

Yup...perfectly normal.

Guess What?

He's home!!!...
David has actually been home since Thursday night! I have been wanting to post for awhile, but our camera is in David's dad's car and I really wanted to post with pictures!
He surprised us, and all day Thursday was telling me that he would be coming home on Friday. He actually got here at around 8:30 Thursday night. Our brother-in-law, Brandon, picked him up so he could surprise us. I was putting Mason to bed when David walked in. It was a wonderful, happy reunion!

Thank you, everyone, for your words of encouragement and support!

More delays

So...David was supposed to come home tomorrow (Wednesday). But today I got a call from him saying they lost some of his paperwork. I had to fax in a form from the paperwork that we have here. It took me a long time to find it and I didn't get it there before the paperwork people on their side went home. So...he's not coming home tomorrow. He may not even be coming home this week. How depressing. All because they lost one sheet of paper.
To top it all off, some of the guys (not David) in the group that he is in have not been cleaning. His whole group got in trouble so he has to write a sentence about how he will contribute to the team blah blah blah 250 times.
This would be bad enough...but writing even a couple sentences hurts his hand and makes it go numb due to the nerve damage in it. But they don't care.
If he doesn't write the sentences, they will take away from his pay and give him an Article 15 which is really bad.
So, I'm not too happy right now.

Oh and my parents' dog ate my new chapstick.

The French Toast Principle

When I was serving my mission, two elders in one of my areas would sometimes talk about the 'french toast principle'. Apparently they would often make themselves french toast for breakfast. They discovered that no matter how many they made, when there was just one left, they just could not finish it.

This is how I feel right now...I've gone through countless days and nights and weeks without seeing David...but now that hopefully there are not very many more left to go through...I feel like I just can't wait any longer!

So...David will hopefully be home by Wednesday (3/18). He is still not healed, but hopefully he'll be able to make a complete recovery. We are still firming up our plans...but we are just so glad that our little family will be together!

Fun in the Sun

We have really been enjoying the warm weather lately.
Carter is at the age where he loves the park...but he has to be closely supervised. If not, he will end up with a stomach full of gravel or wood chips and probably fallen from the playground equipment.
We still have lots of fun and Mason is a good big brother and likes to help push him on the swings.
Mason is newly obssessed with animal crackers, as he is showing us here.

I just threw this picture in because I felt so bad that I had so many more pictures of Carter than Mason. I really do try to take the same amount, but Mason is not very cooperative and I end up with a bunch of pictures of the top or side of his head. Mason loves books and my parents' dog, Belle!
