Thank you!

\Thank you Grandpa and Grandma for the new toothbrushes!! They were the perfect gift! We love them and always brush our teeth! Carter is so into it I struggled to get him to look up. Thank you for knowing just what we wanted.

Kaci also says thank you for the cute Valentine's outfit. (Sorry I don't have a picture of her in it, don't know how I don't!)

Cousins in carriers

When I asked Kaci if she wanted to go see her cousin Lyla...this is the response that I got...

When they actually had a chance to see each other, though....all she could think about was sleeping. Oh well. At least we got a picture. :)

Kind of reminds me of a picture taken not too long ago (or at least it doesn't seem too long ago...it's actually been 3-1/2 years! Crazy!) THis is Mason and his cousin Levi, for those of you who don't recognize them. It looks like my kids are always the sleepy heads in the cousin baby carrier pictures. :)

And how could I end this post with out putting a picture of a sleepy Carter in his carrier as well? I mean, it's not his fault he didn't have a cousin around the same age to take a picture with in their car seats. :)

Kacianna Lily at seven weeks

We sure have fallen for this little lady! It's so hard to believe that she is seven weeks old already! Time goes by so quickly! Sometimes I just sit and hold Kaci a little bit longer and neglect the housework that is calling my name. I watch her brothers and see how active and playful they are and realize that in no time at all, her newborn cuddliness will be replaced with a wiggly curious girl who will hopefully still like to be cuddled, but it will be on her terms. :) I love each stage that my children are going through and I just want to enjoy each one. Since we all know how quickly newborns change, I wanted to take the time to list a little bit about Kaci at this stage, when she's seven weeks.
  • She has the biggest smile and I love it when she looks right at me and smiles. :)
  • She has gone to church four times and has been perfectly behaved so far. :)
  • Her doctor heard a small heart murmur at her two-week appointment, we went back for acid reflux this week and it is almost gone. The doctor says it mostly likely will be completely gone soon.
  • She loves to look in mirrors.
  • Kacianna has a good sleeping schedule at night and never really went through the stage where she had her days and nights mixed up...at least not as severely as her brothers did.
  • She's almost ready to fit into a size 2 diaper.
  • When she is awake, she is always very alert and looking around, taking it all in.
  • Her eyes are definitely going to be brown; Mason is thrilled about this!
  • She loves when we dangle toys in front of her, especially ones with rattles. She will smile so big for them and already tries to reach for them.
  • She doesn't really enjoy tummy time.
  • Kaci loves taking baths, just like her brothers did and still do.
  • She gets frequent hugs and kisses from Mason and Carter (along with Mom and Dad).
  • Her hair is growing!
  • She can't wait to meet Granpa Barker, Uncle Michael, Uncle Brandon, her cousins Lexi, Tori, and Levi who she has heard so much about, Aunt Charbel, Great Grandpa and GG, Grandpa Barker and Emmie, Grandpa and Grandma Ford, Uncle Brian, Aunt Cindy, Uncle Kris, Uncle Donald, and Uncle Erik. She sure has a lot of family who loves her!
  • She loves wearing the hats Grandma Barker gave her and the headbands Aunt Diana made for her! She is a very stylish little girl. :)
  • Kacianna loves music and being sung to.
  • She is so fun to cuddle with!
  • Her parents and brothers are so in love with her and would do anything for her!

Daddy's hat

Daddy's hat can be so much fun! One day Carter just walked in like this. Mason of course wanted to get in on the fun, too!

Our Thoughful Children

The other day I asked Mason what song he wanted to sing for FHE and to my surprise he said the "shine your shoes song"...you know Saturday is a Special Day, it's the day you get ready for Sunday! I didn't even know that he liked that song, much less that he had chosen it as a favorite. Apparently he heard it on the Children's Songbook CDs that we play for them to go to sleep and really liked it.

Anyways, a few days later, he asked if he could shine our shoes. How could I say no? So he got a wet rag and went to work. He is such a good helper!

Mason brought valentines to his preschool class and he and Carter got to split the leftovers. Mason made a special valentine for Kaci. I thought that Carter would just give her one of his, too, but he decided to give all of his portion to his little sister! What a sweetheart. He didn't even take them back. As you can see, somehow she ended up with a jaguar as well.

And here is Kacianna, brightening all of our days with her sweet toothless smiles. What a thoughtful girl!
