Yes, that's a real giraffe!

A couple weeks ago, we took the opportunity to visit David's grandparents in Colorado Springs. Since Mason is obsessed with animals and especially zoos...we decided to take him to the zoo that is down there.
We waited until we were only about 10 minutes away before we told him and he got so excited when he realized what all of the driving was for. Here is a picture of him waiting for me to finish feeding Carter so we could get going!
It was a fun zoo...but I think I like the good ol' Denver zoo best overall. But there is one point that the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has us beat hands down...the giraffes! There are crackers that they let you feed to the giraffes. The giraffes come right up to you and will eat out of your hand and you can pet them. Notice the cracker on the giraffes's tongue that Mason just put there in this picture.
Carter is getting so big! He loves to wave at the camera!
Mason was too young for the pony ride...but they let him pet the pony which was just as fun for him!
Once again...our attempt at a family picture resulted in not everyone looking at the camera, this is kind of getting ridiculous!
It was so nice to see Grandpa and Grandma Ishoy. The boys loved it and so did we. Mason especially took to Grandpa. They very generously took us out to eat. Mason was a little wild...but manageable.

That last picture with Carter and his grandma is just precious! And I can't believe they let you feed the giraffes. That is way better than our zoo!!

Fun fun! I had been wondering what zoo you guys had been at! I've been to the Colo Springs zoo, but it's been years ago - I was probably in grade school - and I don't remember too much, but I DO remember the giraffes!
How cool for Mason!!!
